SAP ISU Consultant (Meter Data Management & Reading)

Client: Leading consulting project in the German Utilities sector

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Utilities Consultant with strong expertise in Meter Data Management & Reading. In this role, you will plan, configure, and implement business processes in SAP S/4HANA Utilities (IS-U), ensuring full alignment with regulatory requirements and business needs in the German energy and utilities market.

A central focus will be on the new reading framework in SAP S/4HANA Utilities and integration of reading-relevant market processes (especially MSCONS messages).

Main Tasks

• Implement and enhance meter data management and reading processes within SAP S/4HANA Utilities.
• Ensure seamless integration of market communication processes, particularly MSCONS (reading results, load profiles, etc.).
• Align business requirements, technical solutions, and organizational structures.
• Manage and moderate functional teams; take technical leadership in solution design and implementation.
• Advise business stakeholders on best practices and optimization opportunities.
• Identify and implement sustainable improvements in MDM and reading processes.

Profile & Requirements

• Deep expertise in SAP for Utilities (IS-U) with a focus on Meter Data Management & Reading.
• Proven hands-on experience with the new reading framework in SAP S/4HANA Utilities.
• Strong knowledge of German energy sector regulations and market processes, particularly MSCONS.
• Proficiency in SAP IM4G and tools/processes related to smart metering systems.
• Solid experience in business process analysis, design, and operational implementation.
• Ability to consult and influence stakeholders at different organizational levels.
• Experience in complex transformation projects within the utilities environment is highly desirable.
