Senior Java/Python Engineer

Our client is a global leader in scientific research publishing, building cutting-edge research and data solutions. Their Data Engineering function is already well established, with numerous data products and advanced retrieval technologies.

They are now launching a new initiative: developing an Agentic Research Assistant in the Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences domain, with the goal to later expand into other scientific and research fields.
 

We are looking for a Senior Java/Python Engineer to join one of our client’s projects and become a key contributor to this innovative solution.
 

Scope of Work

• Contribute to the design and development of an Agentic Research Assistant.
• Collaborate with the data science team that develops prompts and workflows.
• Work with LangGraph and LLM-based technologies to enable intelligent interactions.
• Integrate and optimize solutions using REST APIs.
• Build scalable, robust, and maintainable backend systems.
   

Key Requirements

• Extensive experience in both Java and Python development.
• Strong background in designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Proven experience with AI/LLM technologies (e.g., LangGraph, OpenAI, ChatGPT).
• Ability to work with large-scale, data-heavy applications.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent English communication – essential for effective collaboration with international stakeholders.
   

Nice to Have

• Domain knowledge in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical research.
• Experience in scientific or data-intensive environments.
