Junior System Engineer (offline)

About the project:

VisiQuate is a daily SaaS-based service for healthcare and enterprise clients that makes the volume, variety, and velocity of Big Data simple and actionable. VisiQuate employees data scientists, visual scientists, and subject matter experts who integrate terabytes of incompatible Big Data onto a single platform.

Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) team at VisiQuate is responsible for building and maintaining the integrity and security of the enterprise servers and systems that support the company’s various operating units and solutions.

We are currently looking for an Engineer with experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and operating highly available private cloud to join our IT team that consists of professionals with expertise in networks, server systems, databases, and IT security. This is a demanding role that requires basic technical knowledge and hands on execution.

The Junior System Engineer position is responsible for a functional domain (systems, security, database, networking, etc.), its associated operations (including enterprise systems management processes and tools, monitoring application component, servers and services)


Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure;
• Manage and monitor data loading process;
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability;
• Provide 1st level support, troubleshoot alerts from the monitoring system. If required, forward issues to 2nd, 3rd level of support;
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution;

Requirements:

• Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting of large infrastructure, hardware and system troubleshooting, etc.;
• English – pre-intermediate level at least;
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operation systems, system administration, system statistics, monitoring, etc.;
• Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP);
• Have good self-planning skills
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college and minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in IT (Infrastructure/ Platform/ Systems) Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Understanding of N-tier architectures and experience with troubleshooting multi-tier web problems across platforms;
• Understanding of common web protocols, their open source implementations and security requirements for on-line services;
• Experience in the administration, troubleshooting (e.g. PHP-FPM, NGINX, MySQL, MSSQL)



Will be a plus:
• Experience with cloud providers (Amazon, Azure);
• Microsoft SQL administration (non-dba) experience;
• Experience with firewall systems and load balancers;
• Knowledge of source code revision control systems administration like GIT and SVN;
• Experience in managing virtualization environments using technologies such as VMware VCAC with VSphere;
• Scripting skills (e.g., Shell scripts, Python, Power Shell);
• Jira management and configuration skills.
