Animation Engineer
Responsibilities
- Implement complex, high-performance animations using React and industry-standard libraries (e.g. GSAP, Lottie, Framer Motion).
- Translate animated Figma prototypes into responsive, production-ready code.
- Build and maintain custom Tailwind CSS animations and keyframes.
- Optimize animations across devices and browsers to ensure smooth performance.
- Create reusable motion components and uphold consistency in animation patterns.
- Partner with designers and developers to brainstorm and refine animation concepts.
- Address accessibility and edge-case requirements (e.g. prefers-reduced-motion, fallbacks).
Required Qualifications
- React.js: Expert knowledge of hooks, refs, portals, and lifecycle for animating components.
- CSS & Tailwind: Deep understanding of CSS animations, transitions, transforms, and Tailwind-driven custom animations.
- Animation Libraries: Hands-on experience with at least one of Lottie, GSAP, Framer Motion, or similar.
- Performance Tuning: Proven ability to identify and resolve jank, optimize frame rates, and manage GPU/CPU loads.
- Design Tools: Comfortable working in Figma (motion prototyping, Dev mode hand-off).
Preferred (Bonus) Skills
- Scroll-based animation techniques (e.g. scroll-triggered effects).
- WebGL experience (Three.js or comparable libraries).
- Familiarity with accessibility guidelines specific to motion.
- Experience building design-system components with embedded motion.
