Fullstack Developer (PHP + React/NextJS)
Location: Remote
ExpoPlatform is a UK-based company founded in 2013, delivering advanced technology for online, hybrid, and in-person events across 30+ countries. Our platform provides end-to-end solutions for event organizers, including registration, attendee management, event websites, and networking tools.
Your Role
We’re looking for a Fullstack Developer with solid experience in PHP, React and NextJS to help us enhance and evolve our event technology platform. You'll be working on critical features used by event organizers and attendees across dozens of countries, building tools that power engaging, data-driven experiences at exhibitions, conferences, and corporate events.
This is a hands-on development role where you'll contribute across the stack - from backend services and APIs to interactive user interfaces. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and designers in an agile environment, helping us ship high-quality features that make a measurable impact for our customers.
We're a growing, product-focused team where your contributions will be visible, valued, and make a real difference. If you enjoy building reliable solutions and want to be part of a collaborative, remote-first engineering culture, we'd love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using PHP and modern frameworks.
- Build modern, responsive UIs using React/NextJS and related tools (Redux, Context API, hooks).
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver user-centric features that add real value.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical vision across the platform.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, following best practices and coding standards.
- Take part in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to teammates.
- Improve performance, scalability, and security of both frontend and backend components.
- Work with QA and DevOps team members to ensure smooth deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
- Help identify technical debt and lead refactoring initiatives to keep our codebase healthy.
What You Bring
- Solid experience in development of end-to-end solutions using PHP and Javascript in production environments.
- Proficiency with modern PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony) and frontend ecosystems (e.g. React, NextJS).
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests across the stack.
- Knowledge of Git-based workflows and experience with CI/CD tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- A proactive mindset - someone who takes ownership, solves problems, and moves things forward
Bonus Skills
- Experience with GraphQL or WebSockets.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms like AWS.
- Understanding of accessibility, SEO, or internationalization.
- Background in event tech, e-commerce, or SaaS platforms.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to build quality infrastructure for a platform used globally in the live events industry.
- Fast-paced environment with a growing international team.
- Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
- Flexible work hours and remote work options.
- Professional development and learning budget.
If this sounds like the right challenge for you, we’ll be happy to connect.
