Job Description
We are looking for an experienced C++ developer who will take a lead role in specific parts of our projects and become a domain owner.
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to guide and collaborate effectively within a team.
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in C++ development.
- Strong knowledge of C++ with hands-on experience in multithreading and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
- Experience programming in Linux or Unix-like environments.
- A systematic approach to problem-solving and system design.
- Strong communication skills: ability to explain problems clearly and engage the right people for resolution.
- Participation in code review processes.
- Experience working with STL and Boost libraries.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- Understanding of the networking protocol stack (OSI model, Layers 1–4).
- Experience with distributed systems or high-performance applications.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., shell scripting, Python).
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement network-oriented applications in Linux userspace.
- Work on system-level modules, infrastructure components, and performance-critical features.
- Contribute to architecture and design discussions, including scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Implement new modules and features, and continuously improve existing components.
- Collaborate closely with distributed international teams.
Department/Project Description
Broadband team works on 2nd generations of Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) Cable Access products: actively developing the industry’s first software-based CCAP solution (“Cable OS”) and cloud native CMTS.
These solutions allow to cable operator companies to deliver the IP-based data, video, and voice services to millions of customers. Focus is given to CableOS which will allow to get rid of the existing HW equipment and to migrate to the cloud, saving customers the enormous expenses for the support of HW network equipment.
The system is based on microservice architecture and is running on the general purpose CPUs. It doesn’t require using ASICs and make possible to run the SW both on the bare metal servers as well as on the private cloud infostructure. CableOS is a pioneer in DOCSIS software defined networking (SDN) with all the benefits it gives to the service providers.
