Senior DevOps Engineer

We are a USA-based boutique Software Development Consultancy located in San Francisco, CA. We work on multiple customer products and we are currently expanding the Team that is developing a solution in Medical Research. 

About the Role

The Medical Research platform we have developed has gone intoProduction. As it’s increasing adoption in the market, we are in need of knowledgeable and experienced DevOps professionals to help fine tune the builds, manage run-time environments, monitor the performance and logs, handle scalability, resilience, alerting and security. 

This is long-term contract work in a remote, Distributed Team environment.

Ideal Candidates:

• Are proactive and dependable
• Hate micromanagement and are go-getters in figuring things out
• Can advise and lead establishing all DevOps processes and procedures
• Collaborate greatly with Project Managers, Product Managers, Development Team and QA
• Possess excellent communication skills ( including English )
• Are experts in AWS infrastructure and resource management (ECS, Fargate, EC2, RDS, Kafka, S3, Redis, Elastic, etc.)
• Experts in maintaining and improving CI/CD Pipelines in GitHub and Bitbucket
• Are experienced in establishing and monitoring production systems and resources to detect problems before they are encountered by the end users
• Experienced with a wide variety of SQL and noSQL Databases
• Have proven experience working with Docker, Elastic, MongoDb, Prometheus, Kafka, Debezium and Grafana.
• Have experience with Restful APIs, Make, Keycloak, and SMTP.
• Actively participate to influence a positive work culture and an environment that facilitates learning, exploration, and growth
• Ability to contribute by coding when/if needed in Java, JavaScript, Vue.js is a huge plus!

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Architect and Software Engineers on solutioning CI/CD, Platform Quality, Resilience, Security and Scalability
• Configuring and Managing Monitoring, Observability, and Alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS)
• Database Management (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Administering and improving CI/CD pipeline
• Help investigate Production issues using the Database, Logs, and Source Code.
• Configure and Manage Backup and Disaster Recovery
