SRE with Python skills for GoDaddy
At GoDaddy we are building hypervisor environment based on OpenStack and we are expanding our global team with additional hires in Lviv.
GoDaddy seeks a good SRE with Python background to grow with us.
You can be a part of international team and your opinion will matter.
Skills, Qualifications and Personal Qualities Required:
· Python experience
· Experience with Linux system administration
· Experience with virtualisation solutions (KVM /OpenStack(Nova, Neutron)
· Experience with config management (Puppet)
· Good English
Nice to Have:
· Basic Ceph knowldge
As an SRE, you will need to:
- Monitor infrastructure and fix issues
- Make adjustments to the existing infrastructure
- Manage Puppet (this is the main responsibility and it’s quite extensive)
- Migrate VMs from old platforms (based on KVM) to the new one (OpenStack) – so knowledge of both is required
- Do scripting at a level sufficient to automate tasks and understand existing scripts
- Deploy and configure new hardware (most of the process is automated)
- Resolve networking issues – problems arise from time to time
- Investigate root causes of issues on hypervisors
- Work with datacenter teams to replace and troubleshoot faulty hardware
Regarding Python:
- Mostly scripting – we have dedicated Python developers who handle most of the development work.
