Job Description

Expected skills

• Proven experience with mission-critical/no-downtime Postgresql migrations
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other IaaS/PaaS providers.
• Proven experience working with containerization technologies like Docker containers and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (including experience with Helm, Flux, Traefik, Gloo, and AKS/EKS).
• Familiar with Splunk or any similar log management technology (ELK, Dynatrace…)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Update, complete, document, and test the migration procedures to PG17. Expand those procedures to manage environmental migration. The tooling and troubleshooting tool will require working with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Develop Splunk and Grafana dashboards for auditing, visualizations, and effective monitoring of the migration.

Department/Project Description

The “Reduce TMC Variants” project

This project aims to migrate all Talend legacy environments to Qlik-managed environments. This project implies migrating PostgreSQL databetween AWS accounts between AWS accounts, ideally with no downtime. The goal of this project is to modernize and document the current operational processes. This includes moving to the last major version of RDS Postgresql.

We are looking for a contractor to support PostgreSQL 17 upgrades and backend migration

What makes this mission interesting?

• Implement robust migration process: Update the tools and the solutions to let Qlik migrate the PG databases to PG17 and also migrate the legacy environment to the Qlik targets (AWS RDS cross account migration). All databases are AWS RDS-managed.
• All the tooling is primarily based on Kubernetes and managed with ArgoCD. RDS instances and some tooling (PG exporters...) are deployed with Terraform. You will use day to day industry standard tools
