Junior QA Engineer (Manual)

About the project

Join one of our ongoing projects — a web platform designed for recruitment agencies to track job openings, monitor candidates, and calculate payments for successfully closed positions.

The product has been in use for a while and was recently transferred to our team from a previous vendor. We're now focused on improving the existing functionality and building new features.

You’ll be working in a Scrum team with regular ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Releases happen approximately twice a month.

If you have hands-on experience in testing and want to be part of a product team — we’d love to hear from you!

Tools & Technologies:

  • Backend: PHP, Laravel, MySQL
  • Frontend: React (Redux)
  • Testing: Manual testing of new functionality, regression testing before releases
  • Nice to have: Occasional performance testing using k6 (JavaScript) — only as needed after specific optimizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manual testing of both frontend and backend of a web application;
  • API testing using tools like Postman and Swagger;
  • Working with relational databases (SQL);
  • Exploratory testing — you’ll need to investigate and understand functionality that isn’t always fully documented;
  • Ensuring product quality from requirement analysis to production release — not just checking boxes;
  • Effective collaboration within the team and proactive communication;
  • Working with a UK-based client, so solid written and spoken English is important.

What we offer:

  • Involvement in meaningful projects with real impact;
  • B2B contract cooperation;
  • Opportunity to work on diverse projects and with various clients — gain experience quickly and grow professionally;
  • Real impact on the company’s growth by contributing to process improvements within the QA department;
  • Supportive team environment with open communication;
  • Remote or hybrid working conditions;
  • Opportunities for professional growth and mentorship;
  • Access to internal workshops and knowledge sharing.

Expectations:

  • Long-term Commitment. Our projects are usually long-term. That's why we ask our team members for a minimum of 1 year commitment from their side;
  •  Full-time Work. Our customers expect us to work full-time on their projects, so we kindly ask our team members the same. On average this means 40 hours per week;
  • Synced Schedule. The nature of our projects requires maximum schedule overlap for effective collaboration between everyone involved;
  • Team Meetings. We believe that clear communication is the key to success. Our teams have regular meetings: daily sync-ups, planning sessions, code review.

    Required skills:

    We look for the candidates who have:

  • 1+ year of commercial experience in manual testing;
  • Basic understanding of API testing;
  • Experience working with SQL databases;
  • Solid grasp of test design techniques and ability to apply them in practice;
  • Comfortable working with key QA documentation: test plans, reports, checklists;
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail;
  • Ability to estimate tasks and plan your work;
  • Intermediate or higher level of spoken and written English;
  • Team player with good communication and collaboration skills.

Recruitment stages:

  • application registration via google form;
  • technical quiz;
  • interview with QA Lead and QA Manager;
  • interview with PM;
  • offer.
