Founding Backend Engineer to $7000
This is the beating heart of wring.co. If this seat is empty:
- We can’t ship product at the speed early customers expect.
- There is no technical owner to set the bar for code quality, reliability, and velocity.
- We won’t have the foundation of a culture that values both rigorous engineering and pragmatic execution.
This role is the difference between a promising idea and a real business.
The Kind of Person We’re Not Looking For
Let’s be direct—if you:
- Clock in at 9 and out at 5 without thinking about the mission.
- Prefer to be told exactly what to build, rather than spotting problems and owning solutions.
- Find the idea of talking with customers or recruiting engineers “someone else’s job.”
This isn’t going to be a fit. We want grit, curiosity, and a genuine excitement about shipping products end-to-end.
Core Responsibilities
- Own the Technology End-to-End
- Architect, build, and maintain the core platform.
- Make technical decisions with long-term scalability in mind.
- Build and Lead the Engineering Team
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor early technical hires.
- Shape engineering culture and processes.
- Collaborate Directly with Customers
- Join implementation calls, understand pain points, and translate them into solutions.
Success Metrics
- Fast, High-Quality Shipping
- Consistently deliver key features and improvements on aggressive timelines without compromising quality.
- Clear, Usable Documentation
- Internal and customer-facing technical documentation that is clear, up-to-date, and easy to navigate.
- Technical Ownership
- The product is stable, performant, and evolves rapidly—because you own it, end-to-end.
