Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team working on cloud-based solutions for Cloudera. This role requires a strong background in test framework development, Python-based automation, and hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will contribute to the quality and stability of CML (Cloudera Machine Learning) deployments by developing scalable test infrastructure and writing robust, automated test cases. Preferred experience

• 4+ years of Experience with Test Framework development
• Proficiency in Python
• Hands-on GCP experience
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker
• Experience with Linux 

Plus/Bonus experience

• Experience with QE methodologies and ability to catch product issues will be a plus
• Experience with JS 

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test frameworks and infrastructure for automated validation of CML deployments on GCP.
• Create and execute end-to-end test cases using Python (pytest) within Cloudera’s central QE frameworks.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage across all components of the platform.
• Deploy and test applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging your cloud expertise to troubleshoot and validate functionality.
• Work with Kubernetes and Docker to simulate production-like environments for testing.
• Operate and test on Linux systems, managing scripts, processes, and resources efficiently.
• Identify product issues early through rigorous testing methodologies and contribute to root cause analysis and resolution.
• Optionally contribute to JavaScript-based test utilities or tools where needed.

Department/Project Description

You will be part of a dynamic Quality Engineering team supporting Cloudera Machine Learning (CML) – a cutting-edge platform for building and deploying ML models at scale. The focus of this project is enabling and validating GCP-based deployments of CML, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. The team is responsible for ensuring product quality through infrastructure innovation and comprehensive test coverage, working closely with development and DevOps teams in a cloud-native, containerized environment.
