Senior Software Engineer (Data Plane)- Linux networking, eBPF, IP networking (L3/L4) Offline

Product: platform integrates cellular networking with cloud-native tools to simplify deployment, monitoring, and automation.

About the role:
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join emnify’s Packet Gateway (PGW) squad, with a focus on low-level Data Plane development. You’ll help enhance our high-performance router that connects telecom protocols with internet networks. This role involves working deeply with the Linux kernel and network packet processing using modern technologies like eBPF, XDP, and TC.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain performance-critical networking software using C and eBPF
• Design and build scalable Data Plane services for cloud-native environments on AWS (EKS)
• Contribute to the reliability of IoT device connectivity by debugging and resolving low-level networking issues
• Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers on architecture and continuous improvements

Tech stack:
C, eBPF, XDP, TC, AWS (EKS), Kafka, gRPC, Redis, DynamoDB, Aurora MySQL

What we’re looking for:

• Strong knowledge of Linux networking internals
• Hands-on experience with eBPF for building high-performance network tools
• Solid understanding of IP networking (L3/L4)
• Familiarity with profiling, debugging, and unit testing
