DevOps Engineer (Contractor – Project-Based)
Overview
We’re seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (Contractor) to support a project involving automation workflows, large language model (LLM) hosting, web scraping systems, and database infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for designing, deploying, scaling, and securing infrastructure, while enabling smooth collaboration between engineering and operations. This is a contract role — not a full-time position — ideal for a professional who thrives in project-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cloud Automation
- Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure for n8n, LLMs, and web scraping services.
- Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters (DigitalOcean, AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar).
- Implement centralized monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
Cloud & Platform Management
- Manage infrastructure primarily on DigitalOcean, with potential hybrid or migration work on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Oversee cloud resources (compute, storage, networking, DNS, security groups, backups).
Security & Observability
- Set up role-based access control, secrets management, and API security.
- Implement firewall rules, rate limiting, and protections against common threats.
- Ensure comprehensive observability through unified logging, metrics, and alerts.
Database & Messaging
- Administer and tune PostgreSQL clusters (including replication/failover).
- Manage Redis for caching and queuing.
- Support integration and maintenance of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate).
LLM & Web Scraping Support
- Support internal LLM hosting, deployment, and multi-model routing.
Provide DevOps support for web scraping infrastructure (load balancing, scaling, proxy management).
Requirements
- 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- 2+ years working with DigitalOcean or similar platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- 3+ years hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- 2+ years managing PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar database systems.
- Experience supporting LLM hosting, vector databases, or web scraping infrastructure (strong plus).
- Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and high availability architecture.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a contractor capacity.
