Junior Data Researcher (US sports athletes) Offline

We're looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Junior Data Researcher to help us build a comprehensive database focused on US college sports. If you have a passion for sports, excellent research skills, and a knack for organizing information, this could be the perfect role for you! 


What You'll Do:

As a Junior Data Researcher, your primary goal will be to find, gather, and organize detailed information about US college athletes and teams across various sports. This will involve a mix of public web searches and more specialized data collection. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collecting Player Data: Sourcing individual player information, including photos, personal details, career statistics, current teams, and transfer history.
• Compiling Team and School Information: Gathering data on sports teams, their respective schools, team rosters, logos, and general team information.
• Tracking Transfers: Identifying and documenting recent player transfers between teams.
• Utilizing Diverse Sources: Efficiently navigating Google, official school athletic websites, and specialized player transfer platforms to extract relevant data.
• Data Entry and Structuring: Populating a Google Sheet (or similar agreed-upon format) with collected data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to a predefined structure.
• Prioritizing Data Freshness: You'll focus on gathering the most current available data for the latest season.
• Historical Data Collection (Bonus): We'd greatly value your ability to collect data from previous seasons to enrich our database.

What We're Looking For:

• Language Skills: Upper-Intermediate English is required for communication and sourcing information.
• Exceptional Research Skills: Proven ability to efficiently find specific information from a variety of online sources.
• Strong Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of collected data.
• Organizational Prowess: Capable of structuring data logically within a spreadsheet format.
• Self-Motivated & Independent: Able to work autonomously and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Passion for Sports: A genuine interest in sports is a significant plus.
• Google Sheets Proficiency: Experience working with and organizing data in Google Sheets or similar spreadsheet software.
