ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Middle Manual QA Engineer to join our dynamic product development team. This role is perfect for an individual with a strong foundation in manual testing who is eager to expand their skills, take on more complex challenges, and contribute significantly to ensuring the quality and reliability of our Web, Mobile, and API applications. You will play a crucial role in our Software Development Life Cycle, collaborating closely with developers, customers, and other QA professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Requirements analysis and test planning:
- Review and analyze functional and non-functional requirements, specifications, and design documents to gain a thorough understanding of product features and technical implementations.
- Proactively collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, PM, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify ambiguities, and ensure testability, always keeping the customer's perspective in mind.
- Design and develop detailed, clear, and effective manual test cases and scenarios based on requirements.
- Apply various test design techniques (e.g., boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, state transition) to ensure robust test coverage.
2. Test execution and defect management:
- Execute manual test cases thoroughly and accurately across different platforms (e.g., web browsers, mobile devices, operating systems).
- Perform various types of testing, including, but not limited to:
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- UI/UX Testing
- Exploratory Testing
- Compatibility Testing
- API Testing
- Accurately identify document and report defects/bugs with clear, concise steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results using our bug tracking system. Take responsibility for the clarity and completeness of bug reports.
- Track and monitor reported defects through their lifecycle, collaborating with developers to ensure timely resolution and retesting fixes.
- Perform re-testing of resolved bugs to confirm their closure.
3. Collaboration and communication:
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives, demonstrating a proactive approach to team collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with developers, product managers, and other team members regarding testing progress, risks, and challenges.
- Provide clear and structured feedback on product quality and potential improvements, always with a customer-centric mindset.
Support the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools within the team, showing love for changes and evolving practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience as an MQA Engineer in different projects (size, industry, team structure).
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) principles.
- Proficient in designing, writing, and executing detailed manual test cases, test plans, and project documentation
- Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Trello, Jira) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Xray).
- Experience performing various types of manual testing (functional, regression, UI/UX, exploratory).
- Basic understanding of API testing concepts and experience using tools like Postman for API validation.
- Familiarity with web debugging tools (e.g., browser DevTools).
- Basic knowledge of databases and the ability to write simple SQL queries to verify data (e.g., for backend testing).
- Understanding of client-server architecture and HTTP/HTTPS/XML/JSON/REST protocols.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for task completion as part of a cross-functional team in an agile environment.
- An Upper Intermediate English level (or higher) is preferred for effective communication within the team.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with testing mobile applications (iOS/Android).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Basic understanding of automation testing concepts or scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with performance or security testing concepts.Good to have, but not mandatory.
