Senior Full-Stack (Python+React) Developer

Digis seeks a Senior Full-Stack (Python React) Developer to join our remote team.

About the project:
A leading alternative investment platform democratizing access to previously exclusive asset classes like real estate, private credit, and art.
Project country and TimeZone: CET, Malta
Age and stage: Legacy project to be maintained and migrated to the client’s system in the long run
Duration: long-term

The team: Product Manager, VP of Engineering, DevOps, Salesforce developer on a different squad
Project advantages:
— Real autonomy. The role offers end-to-end technical ownership of the legacy Python/Django system.
— Stable scope. The system is in maintenance mode, so there’s no rush of features. You’ll handle the occasional issue (about 3/week) and focus on building out data migration tooling.
— Tech you’ll enjoy. Python 3, Django, Celery, React (v17+), AWS (Secrets Manager, RDS), Datadog.
— Minimal meetings. Just a short daily stand-up during a 3-7 PM CET window. The rest is async.
— Supportive team. You’ll work directly with a product manager and be backed by a DevOps team. No red tape.
— Good documentation. Glossary, videos, and walkthroughs are already in place to help you ramp up.
— Long-term opportunity. The initial contract is 6 months, but full migration will likely take a year or more. Your role may also evolve into core system integration.
— There’s a possibility to expand involvement into the core Java platform (where Kafka, Docker, etc., come into play), for those interested in a broader scope.

Responsibilities:
— Maintain and support an existing Django-based investment platform
— Implement small feature updates, bug fixes, and performance improvements as needed
—Build APIs to support data migration between platforms
Requirements:
— Python: 4+ years of professional experience
— Django: 4+ years of hands-on experience
— React (version 17): 2+ years of practical experience
— Upper intermediate English level
