Python Backend Engineer

We're looking for a Python Backend Engineer to help build the core engine behind a new AI-powered debugging assistant (under NDA, US client). The goal: ship a solid MVP in ~8 weeks.

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a Python backend to power the VSCode extension
- Design CLI and API (REST/WebSocket) interfaces for debugging workflows
- Containerize and isolate user environments (Dev Containers, Docker)
- Automate environment replication (e.g., from requirements.txt, package.json)
- Handle patch application, logs, metrics, and job status
- Ensure local-only execution by default; enforce strict privacy & security

Qualification:
- Strong experience with Python backend development
- Experience designing CLIs and APIs (FastAPI, REST, WebSockets)
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Dev Containers)
- Familiarity with secure sandboxing practices
