QA Engineer (Manual + Automation)

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join a cross-functional product delivery team. The client provides high-impact tools that surface data insights to users in regulated and data-sensitive environments. This is a fully remote role, but the candidate must be available during UK business hours (GMT/BST).

We’re looking for candidates with strong end-to-end manual QA experience and a working understanding of automation tooling (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, or similar). The role will focus on validating both frontend and backend features, with particular attention to the accuracy and stability of reporting functionality.

About the Project

The QA Engineer will be embedded in a multi-disciplinary team working on a newly initiated module involving data reporting, user interaction, and analytics. The project is greenfield, offering the chance to help shape quality processes from day one. The QA will work closely with frontend/backend developers, product managers, and designers to validate end-to-end functionality, data flows, and UI behaviours.

Key areas of focus:

• Designing and executing E2E test plans for data-driven features;
• Manual validation of frontend-backend integration;
• Managing test cases and defect tracking using Jira;
• Supporting basic E2E test automation using Cypress or equivalent tools.

Must-Have Experience & Skills

QA & Technical Requirements:

• Manual QA experience across frontend and backend flows (3+ years);
• End-to-end test case design and execution;
• Familiarity with API testing and data validation workflows;
• Experience with test case and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira);
• Exposure to test automation tools like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium (bonus);
• Experience simulating network/latency conditions (bonus);
• Technical English В2/С1.

Business & Collaboration

• QA participation in SCRUM/agile teams (2+ years);
• Comfort working with developers and product teams;
• Experience in remote team collaboration (5+ years).

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans for web-based reporting and data features;
• Validate frontend accuracy against backend APIs;
• Write and maintain test cases within test management tools;
• Participate in regression testing and sprint testing cycles;
• Contribute to or review E2E automation tests (Cypress preferred);
• Attend daily stand-ups and agile ceremonies;
• Collaborate across disciplines to embed QA early in the development lifecycle.
