Automation QA Engineer – (FinTech / Payments)

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our team and help ensure the reliability, security, and quality of a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment platform processing live SEPA, SWIFT, and Visa card transactions.

You will work across web and mobile applications, microservices, APIs, and payment infrastructure, validating complete transaction lifecycles and complex integrations. The role combines functional and end-to-end testing, API and integration testing, test automation, resilience testing, security validation, and payment flow verification.

You’ll work closely with developers, DevOps, and security teams to ensure the platform remains stable, secure, and reliable across UAT and production release cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and maintain 63 structured end-to-end test scenarios covering SEPA, SWIFT, and Visa payment flows.
• Test SEPA credit transfers via Centrolink, SWIFT MT / ISO 20022 flows via Microgateway, and Visa card payments including 3DS2 authentication.
• Perform comprehensive testing of web and mobile applications across functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Perform API, contract, schema, and microservice integration testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Validate complete payment transaction lifecycles across multiple services and systems.
• Test synchronous and asynchronous workflows, including queues, retries, dead-letter queues (DLQ), and event-driven processing.
• Perform resilience and failure testing, including failover, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, recovery, and fallback scenarios.
• Validate data integrity and transaction consistency across distributed systems.
• Perform reconciliation and settlement testing to ensure financial transaction accuracy.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to validate platform scalability and stability.
• Validate security controls, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure session flows.
• Contribute to PCI DSS Level 1 compliance validation and produce structured, audit-ready test evidence and traceability documentation.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, track, retest, and verify defects throughout UAT and release cycles.
• Perform cross-platform compatibility and regression testing across web and mobile applications.

• Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and security teams to investigate issues and improve overall platform quality.

   

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA experience, including at least 3+ years working with FinTech, banking, payments, or financial platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation and test development.
• Strong experience in API testing and microservice integration testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Practical programming experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python for test automation.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Experience testing SEPA, SWIFT, Visa card payment flows, and ISO 20022 messaging.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payment transaction lifecycles, reconciliation, and settlement processes.
• Experience testing distributed and event-driven systems, including queues, retries, DLQs, and asynchronous workflows.
• Strong understanding of resilience testing concepts, including failover, circuit breakers, retries, and idempotency.
• Experience with PCI DSS controls and audit-oriented QA documentation.
• Understanding of OWASP security concepts, authentication, authorization, and encryption.
• Familiarity with AWS environments, CloudWatch, logging, monitoring, and observability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, DevOps, security, and product teams.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Familiarity with Java Spring Boot APIs.
• Experience with OWASP Top 10, MFA, and access control testing.
• Experience testing React-based applications.
• Experience with security testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, SAST/DAST tools.
• Experience with mobile testing tools such as Appium or BrowserStack.
• Experience testing complex asynchronous payment processing and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of secure session and authentication flow validation.

• Experience with cloud-based payment or financial infrastructure.
