Azure Solutions Architect / Search Relevance Engineer Offline

We are looking for an Azure Solution Architect with extensive experience in AzureAI (formerly Azure Cognitive Search) or a Search Relevance Engineer for a US-based company that specializes in selling agricultural and construction equipment, as well as real estate through public auctions. The successful candidate will perform a comprehensive audit of the existing search engine, identify weaknesses, and help implement improvements to optimize performance and enhance the user experience.

Part-time engagement is considered, in a project-based collaboration format.

Key Responsibilities:

 1. Audit and Evaluation: Conduct a thorough audit of the existing enterprise search engine (hosted on the Azure Cloud Platform) to identify performance bottlenecks, weaknesses, and gaps in search relevance.

 2. Roadmap Development: Based on audit findings, develop a clear roadmap and action plan for optimizing the search engine to meet user expectations and improve overall search performance.

 3. Optimization Implementation: Lead the efforts in optimizing the search engine by utilizing AzureAI, Azure Functions, and other Azure Services.

 4. Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitor the search engine’s performance post-optimization and iterate on improvements as necessary to enhance relevance and usability.

 5. Collaboration: Work closely with the development team (including 7-9 developers and DevOps) to ensure seamless integration of optimizations and provide guidance on best practices.

Required Qualifications:

 • Experience: Proven expertise with AzureAI (formerly Azure Cognitive Search), Azure Functions, Azure Services.

 • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Azure Storage, Azure CDN, and cloud technologies in the context of enterprise-level search engines.

 • Search Optimization Experience: Significant experience in analyzing and optimizing enterprise search engines, particularly in the context of user experience and relevance tuning.

 • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify weak points in complex systems and develop scalable, effective solutions to enhance performance.

 • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 • Azure Certification: Relevant Azure certifications (such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure AI Engineer Associate) are preferred.

 • Experience in Auction or E-commerce: Familiarity with auction systems or similar industries is a plus.
