DevOps (GCP) Engineer - Consultant/Contract

We are in discussions with the Google Cloud Team to become one of the first Google AI Premier Partners, a program deeply integrated with Google Cloud services and focused on AI solutions. While we have strong AI expertise, we currently lack advanced cloud proficiency. Our developers handle basic cloud tasks, but our resources need better organization, and we require guidance on scalability, security, and advanced configurations. We’re seeking a skilled Google Cloud certified DevOps Engineer to join us initially as a part-time consultant or freelancer, with the potential to transition to a full-time role. In this position, you’ll help streamline our cloud infrastructure, support our move to Google Cloud, and lay the groundwork for MVPs, POCs, and future proprietary products, including work with Google AI clients.

Responsibilities

• Support and optimize our internal cloud resources, ensuring efficient organization and performance.
• Lead the migration of our infrastructure to Google Cloud, setting up scalable and secure environments.
• Design and implement infrastructure for client-facing MVPs and POCs, ensuring reliability and alignment with Google Cloud best practices.
• Provide expert consultation on scalability, security, and advanced Google Cloud configurations.
• Collaborate on building proprietary products, integrating Google AI services for client solutions.
• Assist in preparing the team for Google AI Premier Partner certification, leveraging your Google Cloud certification experience.

Requirements

• Google Cloud Professional Certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm), or observability tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Prometheus).
• Hands-on experience with Firebase and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud scalability, security practices, and advanced configuration setups.
• Ability to work independently as a part-time consultant or freelancer, with excellent communication skills.
• Experience preparing teams for certifications or audits, ideally within the Google Cloud ecosystem.

Nice to Have:

• Background in AI/ML infrastructure or familiarity with Google AI services.
• Prior work with startups or fast-paced environments, particularly on MVP/POC development.
