Automation QA engineer Offline

Project Summary:
We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of an invoicing domain working across two product teams within an accounting. The candidate will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define, implement, and execute test strategies that uphold high standards. The mission is to establish and champion a culture of quality within the team by detecting and preventing defects early, automating where possible.
 

Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy
 

  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Design comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, exploratory, and non-functional testing.

 

Test Execution & Automation

  • Write, maintain, and execute automated test cases.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and performance testing.
  • Ensure early defect detection by integrating testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

 

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure quality is embedded from the start.
  • Drive best practices for software testing and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with developers to enable test-driven development (TDD) and behaviour-driven development (BDD).

 

Defect Management & Reporting

  • Identify, log, and track defects, ensuring clear communication of issues.
  • Analyse test results and provide insights to improve system stability and performance.
  • Ensure test coverage and risk assessment are well-documented and communicated.


Requirements Must Have:

  • Strong communication skills in English and a sharp mind for structuring work.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
  • Proficiency in writing test scripts using JavaScript, or another scripting language.
  • Experience with API testing (Postman, REST Assured) and tools like JUnit, TestNG, or Cucumber.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and test integration.
  • Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment with cross-functional teams.

 

Bonus/Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with financial software.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in performance and security testing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of contract testing (e.g., Pact).
  • Understanding of observability & monitoring tools (Grafana, Datadog).
