Computer Vision Engineer

Samsung R&D Institute Ukraine is looking for Computer Vision engineer who wants to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills to participate in solving challenging Computer Vision problems in rapidly evolving Vision AI domain. The position will involve different aspects of R&D including — research, analysis, prototyping, development and commercialization support of the innovative technologies. Resulting solutions are targeted on Samsung Mobile products and services reaching millions of users worldwide.
 

Required skills / expertise:
 

• 3+ years of experience in image processing and computer vision
• Strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills in computer vision algorithms (OpenCV)
• Knowledge in linear algebra, probability, optimization, and 3D geometry
• Proficiency in C++, math, algorithms and data structures
• Experience with 3D reconstruction, point cloud processing, depth estimation, multi-view geometry, and epipolar geometry
• Experience with object-oriented design and development
• Understanding research methodologies and S/W development lifecycle
• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in computer science, math, statistics, or related field
   

Would be a plus:
 

• Pet projects portfolio that includes — sensor synchronization, timestamp alignment, extrinsic parameters calibration between modalities, visual inertial odometry, SLAM, 3D reconstruction and modeling, etc.
• Familiarity with 3D graphics pipeline/3D graphics API/Game engines: OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, Unreal Engine, Unity
• Familiarity with 3D editing tools: Maya, 3DS Max, Blender etc.
• Understanding sensor fusion techniques
• Familiarity with optimization techniques (e.g., bundle adjustment, graph optimization)
• Experience with frameworks: ROS, Eigen, PCL, Open3D, OpenCV and Ceres
• Solid Python programming skills (numpy, pandas, matplotlib)
• Experience in embedded systems development (Android/Linux)
• Experience with CPU/GPU profiling tools
• Cross-cultural experience and working English to feel confident in the international team
• Experience with one or more deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras
• Participation in CV/ML/DL-intensive research (papers, competitions, patents, etc...)
   

Key Responsibilities:
 

• R&D activities in cameras calibration, content generation, synthetic data generation, 3D reconstruction
• Participate in design process of system architecture
• Collaborate with other R&D engineers worldwide to improve product quality with the latest industry trends in relevant technologies
• Maintain and support existing solutions and services
• Develop demo applications for various platforms
