Product Designer / Fintech / Mobile

About Other Land

At Other Land, we might label ourselves a Product Design Agency, but delve deeper, and you’ll find a group of 14 people deeply committed to the craft of a good product design. We work extensively with both startups and established companies to support and realize their ambitions.

• Improved UI of AR mobile app for wearing digital wardrobe for Metaverse and an NFT marketplace (USA).
• Starting a collaboration with a Series D Unicorn (USA).
• Improving the interface of a graphic editor for a company that produces equipment for handcrafted goods (USA).
• Designing mobile app and building design systems for a mobile service provider (UAE).
• Redesigned B2B SaaS for managing a restaurant business (Germany).
• Crafting a product website and designing a platform for a startup from Y Combinator (USA).
• Designed the MVP version of a product for software management in companies (Germany).

About the client

You’re going to improve the mobile app of one of the biggest banks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The product has numerous opportunities to be implemented and have an impact on large products. This bank, one of the oldest in the UAE, operates within retail and corporate banking, offering a range of services including personal and business banking, credit cards, loans, investment services, and wealth management.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, engineers, other designers, and design lead to gather requirements and feedback.
• Analyze competitors to assist stakeholders in creating the best possible solutions.
• Translate business requirements and user needs into effective design solutions.
• Design new or improve existing design solutions.
• Organize layouts in Figma, considering versioning, states, element libraries, and styles.
• Recommending improvements to the existing design system.

Qualities that are important:

• 4+ years of experience in product design, preferably in mobile apps.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end design process.
• Experience in conducting user research, creating user personas, and journey mapping.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Using Figma like a Pro (variables, auto-layouts, etc.).
• Ability to work independently.
• English B2+
• Experience working with fintech is a significant advantage.
