Role Overview

We are looking for a Retention Marketing Manager to develop, implement, and optimize user retention strategies for our subscription-based product. You will take the lead on designing effective push notification and email marketing flows that keep our users engaged, satisfied, and motivated to stay subscribed. The ideal candidate is data-driven, highly collaborative, and knows how to personalize messaging to different user segments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Customer Support—to create a robust, data-informed retention framework that enhances our user experience and boosts lifetime value (LTV).
 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop Retention Strategies
    • Design comprehensive lifecycle marketing plans for push notifications and email campaigns, focused on reducing churn and increasing user engagement.
  2. Create & Refine Flows
    • Build detailed user flows for automated campaigns (e.g., onboarding, reactivation, upsells) tailored to different subscription stages and user segments.
  3. Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Track, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions, LTV, etc.) to measure campaign effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities.
  4. Cross-Team Collaboration
    • Partner with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Customer Support teams to ensure consistent messaging, gather customer insights, and align on strategic objectives.
  5. A/B Testing & Experimentation
    • Continuously test variations in messaging, timing, and segmentation across push and email channels to enhance campaign performance.
  6. User Segmentation & Personalization
    • Identify and develop user segments based on in-app behavior, purchase history, and other relevant data, delivering tailored messaging to each group.
  7. Retention Tools & Platforms
    • Oversee the selection, integration, and maintenance of CRM, marketing automation, and analytics tools to streamline workflows and improve campaign results.
  8. Compliance & Best Practices
    • Ensure all push and email marketing activities adhere to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry best practices to maintain a positive brand reputation.
       

Qualifications

  • Education
    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience
    At least 2 years in retention marketing, CRM, or lifecycle marketing—preferably within a subscription-based or mobile app context.
  • Technical Proficiency
    Hands-on experience with:
    • Email service providers (ESPs)
    • Push notification platforms
    • Marketing automation tools
    • Data analytics and reporting platforms
  • Analytical Skills
    Strong ability to interpret data, generate insights, and drive data-informed decisions. Familiarity with A/B testing and funnel analysis is a plus.
  • Communication
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling messages and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Attention to Detail
    Keen eye for quality and consistency in targeting, messaging, and campaign execution.
