Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering or related field and 6+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of both.
- Extensive embedded development experience
- In-depth knowledge of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures.
- Proficiency in C, C++ and Assembly for embedded systems, with a strong focus on bare-metal programming.
- Deep understanding of real-time operating systems.
- Expertise in integrating MCU peripherals: SPI, UART, I2C, GPIO, Timers, PWM, USB, etc.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Strong experience in designing firmware architecture for complex systems.
- Familiarity with medical device regulations and standards, and relevant cybersecurity guidelines for medical devices.
- Experience in developing safety-critical embedded firmware, with a strong understanding of functional safety principles and their application in medical devices.
- Experience in incorporating risk mitigation strategies into firmware design and development to ensure patient safety and device reliability.
- Experience with formal firmware verification and validation processes and generating documentation suitable for regulatory submissions.
- Proven ability to rigorously verify and validate embedded firmware, including unit testing, integration testing, and system testing, with meticulous documentation practices compliant with medical device quality systems.
Knowledge of medical device specific protocols and interfaces. Familiarity with BLE and WiFi integration for medical device applications.
Awareness of risk management principles in medical device development and experience in contributing to risk assessments for firmware components.

- Communicates complex technical ideas through daily work, presentations, and workshops. Fosters cross team communication and knowledge sharing. Collaborates with teams and management to make critical technical decisions that align with organizational goals.
