Middle/Senior Data AQA Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Automation QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality of data systems by developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. You will work on the backend testing strategy, focusing on ensuring data integrity, validation, and performance in our data-driven environment. You’ll collaborate closely with data engineers, ensuring comprehensive regression testing, API validation, and developing automation scripts within the Palantir Foundry ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation testing, particularly in the context of data engineering, including backend validation, API testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing on data pipelines and data processing systems to ensure data accuracy, quality, and reliability.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for data processing workflows using Python, PySpark, and TypeScript.
• Utilize testing frameworks like pytest, Jest, or similar to automate test scenarios for data validation, API, and backend processes.
• Design and implement API testing strategies focused on data integrity, performance, and error handling.
• Work with Palantir Foundry, including Contour, Workbook, Ontology Manager, Slate, and Workshop, to ensure seamless integration and data quality.
• Collaborate with data engineers to identify testing needs and ensure comprehensive coverage for data validation and transformation processes.
• Analyze project complexity, identify data quality risks, and proactively develop automation opportunities to mitigate these risks.

• Continuously explore and integrate evolving data engineering and testing technologies.

   

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as an Automation QA Engineer with a focus on data quality and backend validation.
• Strong expertise in functional, integration, and regression testing, particularly in data-driven environments.
• Hands-on experience in API testing, with a deep understanding of data validation, error handling, and performance testing.
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as pytest and Jest (or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience in Python, SQL and TypeScript.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement automated test solutions for complex data workflows.
• Strong analytical skills to assess data quality, identify issues, and troubleshoot data problems.
• Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.
• English Upper Intermediate or higher proficiency.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry (Contour, Workbook, Ontology Manager, Slate, and Workshop) is a plus.
• Familiarity with PySpark is a plus.
