Front-End Architect (Next.js) Offline

On behalf of our Client from the USA, Mobilunity is looking for a Front-End Architect (Next.js, Shopify).

This company specializes in developing innovative digital solutions for businesses, focusing on modular e-commerce, web performance optimization, and AI-driven retail technologies. They create flexible, API-first architectures that enhance scalability and user experience. Their expertise includes AI-powered recommendations, conversational commerce, and tailored digital experiences across various industries. With a customer-centric approach, they integrate artificial intelligence to drive efficiency and growth.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership abilities and excellent communication
• Technical leadership with hands-on architecture to drive innovation across our e-commerce platforms
• Lead the technical direction for one of our distributed engineering teams (30+ engineers) across Europe and the USA, building cutting-edge solutions for major brands while ensuring optimal performance and scalability
• 7+ years of front-end development experience with proven architectural experience leading 3+ person teams
• Expert-level knowledge of Next.js, React, and modern JavaScript
• Strong experience with Shopify development (client specifically highlighted this requirement), including:

○ Building custom Shopify apps

○ Implementing Shopify OAuth flow and API integration

○ Experience with Shopify’s Hydrogen framework (optional)

○ Understanding of Shopify’s App Store requirements and submission process

• Deep understanding of server-side rendering, edge computing, and modern web architecture
• Expertise in performance optimization, including CDN configuration and Core Web Vitals
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and build tooling
• Experience with utility-first CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS, shadcn UI)
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Vercel)
• Confident level of English (at least upper-intermediate to handle all communications).

Advanced technical knowledge:

• Experience with Next.js App Router and React Server Components
• Understanding of advanced caching strategies and data fetching patterns
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and edge functions
• Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Jotai)
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, SFCC, BigCommerce).

Will be a plus:

• Experience with analytics implementations (Google Analytics, GTM)
• Knowledge of authentication solutions (NextAuth.js)
• Familiarity with headless CMS platforms
• Experience with composable commerce architecture.
