Senior NodeJS Developer (20 hrs/week, short-term) Offline

Our customer is developing a hardware system designed for collecting and processing data from hardware sensors. For a new project related to the medical domain, we are looking for a back-end developer to create a cloud-based back-end platform with hardware APIs and a user portal integrated with the hardware.

It will be a project limited in time (around 4-6 months of cooperation) with a part-time involvement of around 20 hours/week.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Framework: Node.js
• Authentication & Authorization: Auth2, JWT, role-based privileges
• Database: PostgreSQL, NoSQL (Mongo or DynamoDB)
• Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
• Good spoken and written English level — ideally Upper-Intermediate or higher
   

Nice to have:

• Experience optimizing performance through database indexing, query optimization, and caching
• Understanding of AWS networking (VPCs, ALBs, security groups)
   

Responsibilities:
 

• Build high-performance RESTful APIs
• Design and manage relational databases
• Implement secure authentication and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Deploy and manage backend services
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and updates
• Ensure logging and monitoring
