Middle/Senior Android Developer with AOSP experience

Join our team to work on a cutting-edge project involving the integration of a Telit LTE modem into an Android-based medical device. This solution plays a crucial role in enabling advanced connectivity features for medical devices. The role focuses on low-level Android development, including driver integration, communication protocol implementation, and system optimization.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Android development, with a focus on low-level/system-level components.
• Strong proficiency in Java and C/C++, with experience in Android NDK development.
• Hands-on experience with UART and/or USB communication protocols.
• Knowledge of Android AOSP and experience with Android framework/kernel customization.
• Familiarity with LTE modem technologies and basic networking principles.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a distributed team.

It will be a great plus:

• Experience integrating or customizing the Android Radio Interface Layer (RIL).
• Knowledge of security protocols (e.g., encryption, authentication) for secure communication.
• Familiarity with iMX8 processor architecture (Android).
• Background in medical device development or highly regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Development within the Android platform.
• Develop and integrate Android drivers for the Telit LTE modem.
• Implement communication protocols (UART, USB) for seamless interaction between the modem and the iMX8 processor.
• Collaborate with the team to evaluate and potentially integrate the Radio Interface Layer (RIL).
• Customize and optimize the Android framework/kernel for modem integration.
• Conduct functional and performance testing to ensure reliable and secure modem operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Write technical documentation for the integrated solution.
