.NET (Xamarin) mobile developer for a financial app

We’re hiring a mid-to-senior .NET (Xamarin) mobile software engineer to build a UK-focused cross-platform fintech app — not just another prototype.

FEDANDBURK is a London-based company building a multi-purpose financial product for the UK fintech market. It helps small businesses and self-employed professionals:

• accept payments via mPOS (mobile point-of-sale) terminals and Bluetooth printers,
• manage business cards and track expenses,
• generate and submit tax reports to HMRC (the UK tax authority) via the official MTD (Making Tax Digital) API.

Tech stack: pure .NET for iOS/Android (not MAUI/Xamarin.Forms), MvvmCross, Realm, Refit
Collaboration: Slack, Jira, GitHub, Figma
Team: two developers, tech lead, project manager, designer, product owner

We will be a great team together if you have
 

• Deep knowledge of iOS/Android components: Activity, Fragment, UIViewController, Storyboards/Layouts
• Familiarity with MvvmCross or other MVVM frameworks for data binding, navigation, and dependency injection
• Strong understanding of mobile performance optimisation (e.g., reducing APK/IPA size, lazy loading, linking)
• Practical experience with Realm (or another mobile database) for local data caching, synchronisation, and offline support
• Knowledge of platform-specific UI frameworks like UIKit (iOS) and AndroidX (Android)
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for mobile projects (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, App Center, or similar)
• Ability to deliver robust and reliable mobile applications
• Experience in building pixel-perfect accessible UIs
• Ability to produce clean and maintainable code in C#
• Understanding of iOS/Android platform-specific features and APIs
• Strong experience in git
• Ability to work remotely and communicate asynchronously

What you will be doing
 

• Working remotely with a flexible working schedule
• Developing, delivering, and maintaining a cross-platform mobile application
• Collaborating with designers in Figma to translate wireframes/UX mockups into native controls (Xamarin.iOS storyboards, Android XML layouts)
• Building and optimising UI screens for both iOS and Android: implementing responsive layouts, custom controls, and theming
• Troubleshooting platform-specific bugs: debugging on physical devices, profiling for smooth performance
• Working closely with backend engineers to consume RESTful APIs, handle data caching, and manage offline use cases via Realm

Hiring process
 

Step 1. Introductory interview
A 30-minute call with our PM to discuss your background, goals, and get you acquainted with FEDANDBURK. Feel free to ask any questions about the team, project, and working style.
 

Step 2. Technical interview
A 60-minute session with our Tech Lead. We’ll deep-dive into your .NET mobile experience, walk through a short coding task or architecture discussion, and share a live demo of our app and roadmap.

Timeline
We usually wrap up both steps within two weeks and share feedback within 48 hours of each interview.
