Scrum / Agile Product Manager to $8000 Offline

In simple terms, we need a technically proficient engineer who can:

• Perform code reviews and enforce best practices
• Build and optimize management/workflow systems
• Occasionally write and debug code to ensure timely project delivery

This position is akin to a Project Manager role, but we want someone with deep technical expertise who can also bring fresh ideas for system architecture and design. You’ll be responsible for leading Agile ceremonies (Scrum meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives) and ensuring our projects hit their milestones.

This role is perfect for ex-CTOs or senior engineers looking to join a larger team, take on more responsibility, and guide others while still being hands-on. Strong Python and JavaScript skills are a must, with an emphasis on system architecture and design.

QOVES is a London-based biomedical startup focusing on enhancing patient experiences in cosmetic medical clinics through software. We leverage AI and computer vision to transform the consultation process for cosmetic surgery. Having been around for 6 years with solid funding, we’re growing quickly and looking for long-term employees to join us as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile/Scrum Processes: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to keep the team aligned and productive.

   

• Technical Leadership:
  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance Django applications
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain quality standards, and champion best practices

  • Occasionally write and debug code (Python and JavaScript) to guide and support the development team

     

• System Architecture & Design:
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of project roadmaps and backlogs
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions that balance performance, scalability, and business needs

  • Integrate external APIs and services, including AI systems (e.g., OpenAI’s Language Models)

     

• Project Management:
  • Own project timelines, ensure deliverables are met, and remove blockers for the development team

  • Track and communicate project status, dependencies, and risks effectively to stakeholders

     

• Collaboration & Mentorship:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI, computer vision, design) to deliver features and improvements

  • Mentor junior developers, share knowledge, and foster a culture of continuous improvement

     

• Infrastructure & Deployment:
  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS (or other cloud infrastructure)

  • Utilize containerization (e.g., Docker) for streamlined workflows

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of experience with Django and Python
• 7+ years of experience with JavaScript projects
• Expertise in RESTful API design and development
• Strong database design and optimization skills (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience with AWS and cloud deployment
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, etc.)
• Strong English communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Experience with AI/ML integrations and knowledge of computer vision or signal processing concepts

   

Nice to Have

• Experience in medical or healthcare software development
• Previous startup experience
• Contributions to open-source projects
