SEO Specialist (Shopify)

We’re looking for a Technical SEO Specialist with strong experience optimizing Shopify websites to join us for a short-term project. Your mission will be to audit, prioritize, and fix technical SEO issues across several eCommerce projects to ensure full crawlability, indexation, and enhanced performance in search. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform a comprehensive technical SEO audit of Shopify websites (e.g. crawlability, indexation, site architecture, page speed).
• Identify and prioritize critical SEO issues and quick wins.
• Implement or coordinate fixes in collaboration with our dev/design teams.
• Optimize Core Web Vitals, page load speed, and mobile usability.
• Address issues such as duplicate content, broken links, redirect chains, and canonicalization.
• Ensure proper implementation of structured data/schema markup.
• Optimize site structure, internal linking, and navigation for both users and bots.
• Set up or fine-tune robots.txt, sitemaps, hreflang tags, and noindex directives.
• Collaborate with content and marketing teams to ensure SEO best practices are followed sitewide.
• Provide clear documentation, reports, and action plans.

What we expect from you:

• Proven experience in technical SEO, especially for Shopify websites.
• Strong knowledge of SEO tools like Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, etc.
• Experience working with Shopify themes, Liquid, and third-party apps affecting SEO.
• Solid understanding of Crawl Budget, rendering, JavaScript SEO, and Core Web Vitals.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic dev principles.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results quickly.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 Bonus Points:

• Experience working with Shopify Plus.
• Knowledge of international SEO and multi-language setups on Shopify.
• Familiarity with tools like Shopify SEO Manager, Yoast for Shopify, or similar.
• Previous experience working on SEO during site migrations or redesigns.
