GIS Analyst (offline)

We are currently looking for a GIS Analyst to join the professional team which creates utility mapping, surveying and location solutions for GIS (geographic information system).
You will work in accordance with our development methodologies and leverage industry best practices, tools, and infrastructure to deliver high-quality solutions.

 

Your tasks:
 

  • Handling and validating customer datasets supplied for the area of interest registrations or updates, and refinement of process and standards. Validation/Conversion/Translation & Manipulation of data
  • Securely receive and manipulate customer potentially sensitive asset datasets. Validation, change detection and before and after response samples delivered; refinement of process and standards. Liaise with other teams where required
  • Ensure documentation is kept up to date and maintained in the Knowledge base
  • Notify and coordinate with various global business units, when updates to their systems have been made
  • Automation (where possible depending upon customer needs)
  • Maintain & quality control the geodatabases for all services
  • Support/troubleshoot all GIS-related issues; global Contact Centers as well as individual utilities
  • Maintain MapBasic programs & create FME workspaces for geodatabase workflow efficiency & analysis
  • Ad-hoc data editing and creation for projects from existing customers and new customers
  • Assist with external and internal mapping and spatial data requests; creating and running spatial queries in response to requests
  • Maintain the GIS knowledge base
  • Reporting β€” scheduled and ad-hoc for the company and customers
  • Diligence regarding data security at all times
  • Ensure documentation is kept up to date and maintained in the Knowledge base

     

Qualifications:
 

  • Qualification in a spatial or geographic-related field
  • Knowledge of GIS applications such as QGIS, ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English

     

Nice to have:
 

  • Experience in supporting business-critical software applications
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Experience configuring and managing FME Desktop&FME Server
  • Exposure to AWS & Azure
  • Experience configuring and managing GeoServer
  • Experience with innovating
