- Our client company is a Foreign Exchange Hedge Fund.

- 99% of their trading is done by systems on computers in data centers in New York.

- Their founder has adapted a portfolio of trading systems that are highly profitable but have not yet been optimised.

- They have a deep connection to Ukraine and are opening an office in Ukraine to further develop their profitable systems and invest in staff to find and build new even more profitable systems.

- They are a high-frequency trading firm, which means they hold positions for (generally) very short periods and their systems trade 24 hours 5 days a week.

- They trade US$700m - $800m of foreign exchange every month.

Responsibilities

• Guided by the Senior Foreign Exchange Trader you will build and manage;

- Automation tools;

- Data analysis tools;

- Automated Algorithmic Trading (Expert Advisors) to initiate FX trades;

- Performance tracking;

- Alerting tools and systems when trades are not monitored by the trader;

- Backtesting algorithms with data scientist;

• You will extract data from trading systems and trading records for analysis;

• Guided by the Data Scientist you will build a warehouse for holding data, searching, and analysing data;

• Build interfaces for automated trading to server-side API;

• Manage high-frequency trading servers and optimise CPU allocation.

Qualifications

• Candidate can be a University Graduate, someone with 1-2+ years in a software development role;

• Experience in developing end-to-end basic software and data tools;

• Less important to have worked in a large development team which is usually based on working only on parts of projects rather than full solutions;

• No specific trading or Foreign exchange experience but that would be an advantage.

Skills

• Excel and data analysis;

• General experience building end-to-end useful tools or applications (not task-based);

• Some basic networking such as latency and where/how to run our high-frequency trading servers;

• SQL;

• API;

• MQL;

• Python and C++ (possibly C#);

• Database and data warehouse skills;

• HTML and Website for display of data and monitoring.
