Software Engineer (Test)

SimCorp is developing and implementing integrated software solution for the financial sector. Our product, SimCorp Dimension, is one of the leading investment management platforms in the world and is used by global financial institutions and fund managers.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with interest in testing of financial software. You will be a part of join Investments and Accounting Product Area of the Accounting and Operations offer-line(Data and Post Trade Engineering Line), which is responsible for the development and test of Back Office area in SimCorp Dimension.

The Job

Accounting and Operations Offer line is a part of Product division, which is a full-scale agile organization following enhanced SAFe. You will be a member of a self-organized team consisting of developers, testers and business experts in Kyiv, Ukraine. The team is responsible for delivering functionality within the Investments and Accounting Product Area. The respective code is based mainly on APL. In your daily work together with your team  of software engineers you will::

- Work with product management to refine new features, understand and clarify client requirements 
- Participate in designing and execution of test cases;
- Preparing Demo sessions;
- Performing incident/error management;
- Take part in continuous improvements on area, team, and individual level.
- Implement best practices to automate test suites;
- Become a recognized product expert in at least one domain of our product

We expect you to:

- have a Master’s degree in quantitative disciplines, such as Economics or Finance;
- have experience in testing enterprise scale applications;
- have experience in different types of functional and non-functional testing. Knowledge of basic test theory: functional, black-box, regression testing, integration testing;
- have an interest in financial products and transaction flows in a large, complex system;
- identify and describe a problem, strong attention to details is required;
- work with minimal written documentation;
- be able to work both unsupervised and as a part of a Scrum team;
- meet deadlines and deal with changing priorities;
- take responsibility for own actions and performance;
- have an agile mindset;
- have a great English communication skills, both written and spoken;
- contribute actively in development of the team’s skills and activities with a positive attitude, energy and on continuous basis.

Furthermore, we value that you   

- Have motivation to work within the financial domain  
- Are willing to acquire other technical and programming skills  
- Have the desire to develop and maintain automated tests, underlying frameworks, and their integration into CI/CD pipelines  
- Actively learn through experimentation when tackling the latest problems, using experiences from both successes and failures  
- Can introduce new ways of looking at problems and that you can take creative ideas and put them into practice  
- Think about the entire system and can identify and implement ways to continuously improve  
- Able to work in a hybrid setup (virtual and physical work environments)  
- Experience in software quality assurance and/or basic knowledge of BDD, C#, .Net, TeamCity, Azure will be an advantage.
