Financial Manager (Germany) (offline)

We are looking for a Finance Manager and Controller for the SET GmbH business located in Wangen im Allgäu, Germany.

This role provides the candidate the opportunity to:

- Lead the Finance function for the SET GmbH business, including all accounting and controlling activities
- Support critical business decisions and maximize the overall profitability of the business
- Apply advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and German accounting law (HGB)
- Demonstrate expertise in identifying areas and processes for enhancement

Position Responsibilities:

- Execute monthly closing procedures for the SET GmbH business in compliance with both HGB and U.S. GAAP, including:
- Completing or reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Managing all U.S. GAAP accounting adjustments
- Preparing the percentage of completion revenue recognition and project cost analyses
- Forecast bookings, billings, gross margin and expenses over multi-year periods
- Gather, model, analyze, and summarize financial information for reporting, business planning, operating forecasts, etc. on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis
- Assure data consistency within heterogeneous systems landscape
- Perform internal control duties within the scope of the role; implement changes to strengthen controls, reduce risks, and increase efficiency; support internal and external audits
- Perform ad hoc analyses and other financial support/projects as directed
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Collaborate with a diverse team (in particular project management, sales and offering team, finance, cost accounting, tax) that is spread across the Americas, Europe, and Asia
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to the SET GmbH - Finance team, advocate for their professional development and provide constructive and timely feedback

Knowledge and Experience Required:


- Accounting or Finance degree required
- 8-10 years of relevant experience with exposure to different areas (business analysis, operations, planning, M&A, accounting, FP&A, etc.).
- Experience in project-based businesses would be an advantage.
- 3+ years of experience with managing a team
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP (in particular revenue recognition) and HGB
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (modeling, reporting) and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience of using financial knowledge and analytical strengths
- Experience managing multiple activities, projects and priorities with a proven record of results
- Experience working in an international environment
- Excellent communication skills across different levels of management and cultures
- Quick learner, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Oracle ERP system and FP&A/BI software (Hyperion, Tableau, etc.)
- Fluent in German and English
