GIS engineer Offline

We are seeking an experienced GIS engineer with a background in backend development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining GIS applications, as well as a good understanding of backend development. They should easily work with GIS data, and databases and have a good understanding of the GIS domain.

Responsibilities:

- Collect and analyze GIS data, including satellite imagery, aerial photography from open sources, and other data sources.

- Develop and maintain databases, including PostgreSQL and PostGIS.

- Scrape data from open sources and integrate it into the project.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.

- At least 1 year of experience in a GIS or related role.

- Experience with GIS software like QGIS or ArcGIS.

- Experience with GIS databases like PostgreSQL and PostGIS.

- Experience with GIS data formats like GeoJSON, Shapefile, and KML.

- Spoken and written English at B2 level or higher.

- Proficiency in the backend programming language Python/Java/C++/C#, preferably Python.

- Understanding of GIS concepts like projections, coordinate systems, and geocoding.
