Junior Cybersecurity Analyst $1500-2500 Offline

They maintain the industry's leading Python vulnerability database and their Safety scanner is popularly used by Python teams worldwide. Their software and vulnerability data are trusted by thousands of software development teams including top companies like Amazon, Apple, and Intel. A fully remote team with members in North America, South America, and Europe.

As a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst, you'll help curate and build vulnerability database by reviewing and researching potential vulnerabilities found by systems. You'll analyze the validity of each vulnerability by reviewing CVEs, GitHub commits, and package changelog text, among other things. With some software development and cybersecurity experience, you'll have the chance to learn and grow in your role, eventually taking on more complex work like conducting vulnerability severity assessments and novel vulnerability research.

Qualifications and Experience:

-experience in one or more of Python, JavaScript, and Java

-experience reading and understanding code in various languages

-understanding of the open-source software landscape, including how libraries/dependencies work, are installed, updated, and used in real code

-Vulnerability and cybersecurity concepts and fundamentals;

-you know what the various vulnerability types that exist are (e.g. XSS, remote code execution, DoS attack, etc)

-CVE, CWE frameworks

-ideally, some hands-on experience with coding tools, CTF, or pentesting

-Good research and analytics skills

-Good written and spoken English
