Lead Hard Surface Artist (offline)

Stan's Assets is looking for a Lead Hard Surface Artist for our new client from the USA. The project is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game similar to FINAL FANTASY XIV

The position entails collaborating with Art/Design Directors and Leads to shape the hard surface style and direction, overseeing and coaching a team of proficient 3D Artists (both internal and external), and generating and preserving reference examples and documentation to facilitate hard surface asset development.

 

Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience in a leadership position; autonomous problem-solving skills and strong initiative to meet hard surface art initiatives with a positive outlook

- Proficiency with Sub-D modeling in 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, or equivalent 3D DCC software

- Proficiency with texture creation in Substance Painter and Photoshop within PBR standards

- Experience creating clean game-ready topology, UVs, and textures within real-time technical constraints

- Ability to stay organized and maintain a high level of attention to detail

- Excellent ability to communicate ideas and work well within a team

 

Nice to have

- Knowledge of mechanical function to increase realism for any asset

- Ability to create both hand-painted textures and textures from photo reference

- Experience in real-time material creation (Unreal, Unity, Substance Designer, etc.)

- Experience in high-detail sculpting with Zbrush

- Solid understanding of form, silhouette, and shape language

- Experience developing AAA projects
