Computational Geometry Software Engineer Offline
We're a rising innovative product company and is creating a software solution to automatically perform analysis of geometry from drawings. The geometry analysis is for 3D and 2D drawings from a drawing file that's usually produced in CAD like an STP format or sometimes an SVG file.
You'll help create automation that will be able to measure distances and recognize geometric features from the data. You'll work with 3D or 2D libraries to help create our own algorithms.
Other areas of focus will be to recognize volumetric geometry, which is also 3D. You will help create automation to measure shapes and recognize features from the data.
We already have a way to process the CAD file so that's not needed. But we want to continue to create algorithms that can be used to automatically understand different features of geometry from the targeted data.
To summarize, we need to look for your help for creating algorithms to interpret the data and do the following:
1) Automatically recognize and measure surface area of volumetric geometry
2) Measure surfaces even if areas are not flat and uneven
3) Geometric cleanup
4). This algorithm will be eventually used for doing geometric analysis of CAD files of parts to be manufactured using CNC milling and turning processes
More information about needed background
You don't necessarily have to have experience doing the above mentioned job. But you should definitely have a strong knowledge for math and geometry and an ability to problem solve when making programming applications or algorithms.
You also may need to use C# and .NET. It's a plus if you know C++, but not needed. Hope you don't mind learning on the job.
