Create beautiful interfaces for a product-driven, remote-first company. You'll work with out UI/UX designers and back-end developers to craft best practice front-end experiences for our membership community. This is a start-up product incubated in a 15-year old business.
You have at least 4 years experience as a front-end developer and those 4 years have taught you a lot about how products are built. Bonus points if you’ve built your own product before. Doesn’t matter if it failed, you tried and learnt from it.
You’re constantly experimenting with new frameworks to create beautiful user interfaces to deliver value. You know intuitively how a static design should work when translated to an interface and delight in optimising for the end user. You’re good at understanding business value too - you know that there are frameworks that can get the product to market quicker so that you can focus on the high-impact work that requires deeper problem solving. You’re a stickler for best-practices.
You’re keen to get involved in a start-up as this will give you the opportunity to apply your broad skillset, but also go deep in one particular area to deliver value.
Brainmates is building a number of software tools and applications in the coming year. This role in particular works in partnership with the UI/UX designer and principle software engineer to develop functional user interfaces matched up with back-end functionality.
This is a small team, so you’ll be involved in many areas. We’re looking for broad T-skilled people who know enough about a wide variety of languages and frameworks to know what best to implement in which situation. This is not a role for someone who is deeply set in their one specific language, but one that is made for someone who knows how to deploy the best framework for the situation and business context. You’ll also be willing to learn the newest most cutting edge frameworks and methodologies.
This role will report to the Chief Product Officer and is based remotely from anywhere in the world. You will work with a product manager, UI/UX and principle software engineer to help to deliver the initial feature set of our MVP/MMP to market.
We are a small business with a clear strategy to grow into a large organisation. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get in early and grow with the company.
