Automation QA - 6 months contract (offline)

We are a young and rapidly growing sports technology business that has recently launched our platform to some major Australian sports. Currently serving the needs of hundreds of thousands of users, our platform will grow in coming months to service millions of users across most major sports in Australia.

You will be reporting to our Quality Assurance Lead. Day-to-day you will work on creating automation scripts for functional and performance tests, making sure that the solutions produced by the Development Team are robust and scalable to support our platform

You will be responsible for:
* Communicating with the Product team to Analyse the application and gather requirements
* Writing and updating test automation scripts
* Creating test cases in JIRA and enabling automation reporting for sprint releases
* Being proactive and bringing in continuous improvement to the automation framework and other automation practises
* Sharing knowledge and supporting and uplifting the QA team

Skills and requirements

You must have a proven background in writing functional and non-functional automation tests, with commercial experience of working to Agile methodologies. You must also have strong technical knowledge with an ability to learn complex systems quickly.

Technical skills:
* Experience with writing automation tests in Cypress or any JavaScript based tools
* Strong knowledge and expertise in OO design and development concepts
* Experience with API testing tools like Postman
* Exposure to microservices and contract testing tools such as PACT
* Exposure to Performance and Load Testing
* Experience with setting up Automation tests in CI
* Experience testing cloud-based/SaaS applications
* Bug/work control, source control, and deployment technologies (Git)

This role will require you to use your strong experience in driving automated testing strategies to accelerate our automated testing capability.

This role would suit someone who is practical about delivering the most value in a given time frame, and strongly self-motivated.

* We have 2-stage interview process after that which takes roughly 1 week (for the whole process)
* This is a 6 months contract role
