Job description:
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. You will build pipelines to transform raw data into useful data systems. You will also be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flows. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.
To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include strong SQL skills, familiarity with any programming language and understanding of machine learning principles. You should be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Microsoft data technologies in Azure.
• Work with multiple teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Keep our data secure and develop an information security policy.
• Assist data scientists in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role (nice to have)
• Technical expertise with data modeling and analysis (nice to have)
• Understanding of Data Warehouse, ETL/ELT, Business Intelligence concepts (nice to have)
• Knowledge of programming languages - Python
• Hands-on experience with SQL database design and programming
• Great numerical and analytical skills
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field (nice to have)
• Data engineering certification is a plus (nice to have)
