Senior Android Engineer (offline)

Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience building Android apps
• Experience with Objective-C
• Hands-on experience with GIS/maps
• Solid understanding of 3D maps, consumer ID, subscriptions
• A strong understanding of automation testing of mobile apps
• Knowledge of the full life cycle of mobile app development
• Understanding of the nuances of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to effectively write code for a multitude of Android devices
• Experience building RESTful API’s focusing on integration with back end services
• Self-motivated with strong time-management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Readiness to work shifted hours (3 hrs)

Responsibilities:
• Perform requirements analysis
• Design and build advanced applications for the Android/iOS platform
• Discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies during R&D activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Communicate with the customer

The customer provides digital mapping, travel time analysis, and public transportation data solutions.

The project is an innovative and technologically advanced mapping application that has changed the way people plan and navigate their adventures in nature. The app is useful for outdoorsy people who need a way to plan for their trips, stay safe in the outdoors, and spend less time worrying about how to get back to where they started from.
