About the role:

Own the full animation pipeline (rigging, skinning, keyframe animation) for stylized games.
 

Responsibilities:

• Create optimized rigs and do skinning.
• Keyframe animation for characters/props and mocap cleanup.
   

Requirements:

• Maya or Blender.
• Experience with stylized animation.
• Understanding of technical constraints (bone count, vertex influences).

We are developing a dark-fantasy game Darkest Messiah featuring multiple gods, branching narrative, cult systems, and stylized 3D characters.
We are looking for a 3D Animator who can bring our characters, creatures, and rituals to life with expressive, high-quality animation.

Your task will be to create combat, ritualistic, idle, cinematic, and environmental animations based on dark-fantasy aesthetics.
You will work closely with the art director and game designer to ensure stylistic consistency with our world and gods.

Required Skills

3D character animation

Strong knowledge of human and monsters body mechanics

Experience with Blender

Experience with Unity animation pipelines

Ability to create both stylized and realistic animation

Basic rigging skills (optional but desirable)

Additional Skills

Experience animating cloaks, robes, cloth simulations

Experience with dark-fantasy or gothic-style projects

Understanding of animation for gameplay (attacks, spells, hit reactions)

Ability to work with motion capture data (optional)
