About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced IT Compliance Specialist to lead and manage our compliance programs across ISO 27001 and SOC 2, ensuring our gaming platform and related services meet the highest standards of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. The role will serve as the primary liaison for both external and internal auditors for ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 attestation, with a focus on addressing scope changes, corporate structure changes, and responding to client security questionnaires. 

 
Key Responsibilities 

ComplianceManagement 

• Lead and maintain the company’s ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) and SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria certification programs. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for engaging with external and internal auditors, facilitating ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 attestation processes. 
• Own compliance audits: plan, coordinate with auditors, collect evidence, and provide comprehensive audit responses.

Policy & Process Governance 

• Develop, maintain, and enforce IT security and compliance policies, procedures, and standards.

• Respond to client security questionnaires with accurate and detailed information to demonstrate compliance. 

Control Implementation & Monitoring 

• Oversee access control, change management, incident management, and third-party/vendor risk management within the scope of ISO 27001 and SOC 2. 
• Ensure compliance across environments supporting software development, hosting platforms, and APIs. 
• Monitor the effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements to mitigate emerging risks. 

Audit & Assurance 

• Act as the central liaison for external auditors, regulators, and certification bodies, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution. 
• Conduct internal compliance audits, gap assessments, and readiness reviews to maintain certification readiness. 
• Track and close compliance findings and audit issues, ensuring timely resolution and documentation. 
• Provide expert guidance on compliance implications of ISO 27001 scope changes and corporate structure changes. 

Training & Awareness 

• Build awareness of compliance requirements across development, operations, and support teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries, improving query execution plans, indexing strategies, and overall database performance.
• Develop and improve frontend functionality using TypeScript and React.
• Build and support features related to employees, departments, devices, and role-based access control.
• Enhance the platform’s scalability, reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, identifying and removing bottlenecks across backend services, data pipelines, and databases.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features, from technical design and implementation through production release.
• Work closely with a small, highly autonomous team, contributing to architectural decisions and the long-term direction of the platform.
   

Required Competence and Skills:

• 10+ years of experience developing production-grade backend systems, with strong expertise in Java, distributed architectures, and scalable data-processing solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven streaming systems, including topic design, partitioning, consumer groups, and delivery guarantees.
• Practical production experience with Apache Flink or another stream-processing framework.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse or comparable OLAP databases, such as TimescaleDB or Aerospike, including data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Redis and effective caching strategies.
• Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, and high-volume, low-latency data-processing systems.
• Experience designing and implementing RBAC, permission models, and multi-tenant architectures.
• Experience building frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
• Strong practical experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, including reviewing and validating AI-generated code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and production observability.
• Proven experience as a key contributor to complex backend or data-platform projects, with the ability to work independently and deliver scalable solutions.
   

Nice to Have:

• Experience developing Kafka-based data pipelines that consolidate data from multiple backend systems.
• Experience with identity and access management technologies such as Okta, Active Directory, SCIM, or SSO.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS and data-intensive cloud infrastructure.

What you will be doing
• Design, evolve, and maintain core libraries, framework extensions, and shared components used across all engineering teams

What we are looking for
• Deep, low-level understanding of Java internals (JVM, GC behavior, memory management, concurrency/multithreading, and performance profiling)
• Advanced knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL), including query optimization, indexing strategies, locking mechanisms, and connection pooling under heavy load and distributed systems architecture, specifically high-throughput event streaming with Kafka (partitioning, replication, consumer group rebalancing, and tuning).
• Strong system design, troubleshooting and debugging capabilities
• Comfortable and proactive in using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) as productivity multipliers
• Practical experience validating, refining, and taking ownership of AI-generated output
• Upper-intermediate or higher level of English

Nice to have:
• Proven track record of building or maintaining shared libraries, SDKs, or internal tooling in a large-scale engineering organization.
• Hands-on experience with APM tools and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) with the ability to define meaningful SLOs/SLIs, custom metrics, and proactive alerts.
