We are the Fintech team from Wix. Our main goal is to provide Wix users with the best ways to accept payments and manage funds.

There are more than 100 integrated providers across various countries, payment methods, and continents. We've created our own payment provider called Wix Payments (https://www.wix.com/payments) and successfully compete with leaders like PayPal and Stripe. We handle onboarding, processing, balance management, dispute management, reporting, and other essential features to support our users.

To support our product, we run more than 50 microservices written in Scala (We accept candidates with any server experience; we have a dedicated onboarding process for newcomers without Scala experience). Our APIs are publicly available and are used by third-party developers (https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-management/payments/working-with-payments-transactions-and-orders). We move fast; half of our platform is deployed every day, and we have dozens of A/B tests running in parallel to support the gradual rollout of our features.
 

To support our growth and expansion, we are looking for a Server Developer interested in developing scalable, distributed applications in the fintech area.

Job Description

As a Senior Web & Brand Designer, you’ll handle a range of design tasks, from concept to completion, creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs. You’ll collaborate with team members to ensure projects align with goals and contribute to innovative visual design solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Take ownership of a wide range of visual design tasks, from initial wireframing and layout creation to final design polish, ensuring all tasks meet the highest standards
• Use your technical skills to bring designs to life on the web, becoming an expert in the Wix platform, and ensuring smooth functionality and exceptional user experiences
• Continuously push creative boundaries by experimenting with new design concepts, tools, and technologies to deliver cutting-edge digital experiences
• Work closely with project managers and fellow designers to bring innovative design ideas to life, ensuring alignment with project goals and the overall vision
• Approach design challenges with a creative mindset, finding innovative solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality
• Receive and apply constructive feedback from team members to refine and enhance designs

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional web and brand design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to take projects from concept to launch
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• A keen eye for detail to ensure all design elements are polished and aligned with project objectives
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to effectively articulate ideas
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, accept constructive feedback, and enhance designs accordingly
• Solid understanding of UX/UI fundamentals, including layout, typography, and image creation, paired with a creative mindset to craft unique design experiences
• Highly organized, independent, and productive, with the ability to take full ownership of projects and drive them from start to finish
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach that contributes to a dynamic and engaging team culture
• Experience with AI-driven creation tools, HTML/CSS/JavaScript coding capabilities, web creation platforms such as Webflow, Wix, Tilda, and more — an advantage
• Illustrations and image making skills, After Effects, Blender and/or Cinema 4D knowledge — an advantage

• Collaborate on the development and integration of AI-driven features, leveraging the latest advancements in LLM and NLP
• Conduct research and experiments to explore innovative AI methodologies and incorporate cutting-edge models into customer care products

As a Principal Server Engineer in the Wix Fintech group, you’ll architect and develop scalable payment solutions that power millions of businesses worldwide. You’ll take ownership of complex distributed systems and mentor engineering teams to shape the future of our global payment platform.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Architect high-performance payment processing microservices using Scala
• Lead critical technical initiatives across provider integrations and system optimizations
• Mentor engineering teams on distributed systems and scalable architecture patterns
• Drive technical decisions for mission-critical payment infrastructure components
• Design solutions for international payment methods and regulatory requirements
• Develop public APIs enabling third-party integrations with Wix Payments
• Scale microservices architecture to handle growing transaction volumes

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of building large-scale distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of system design principles, concurrency patterns, and distributed architecture
• Experience driving technical decisions and mentoring engineering teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex production issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders

We are Wix’s Backend Engineering Guild. We provide integrated tools for microservice development within Wix to help improve developer productivity and best practices. These tools streamline the development process and reduce cognitive load, allowing Wix Engineers to concentrate on their domain, architecture, and business logic. To handle high-scale traffic (over 500B HTTP requests per day) and 500+ daily deployments, our team of 500 Backend Engineers runs production across 19 distributed data centers and cloud vendors worldwide.
