    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze large volumes of game and player data to identify patterns, trends, and dynamics, and turn them into clear business conclusions.
    • Translate findings into practical recommendations for product improvements, highlighting what works, what doesn’t, and what opportunities to explore
    • Perform deep-dive investigations into performance anomalies or game features to explain what happened and why
    • Collaborate with game designers, product managers, and developers to shape hypotheses and validate them through experimentation.
    • Support development and testing of predictive models (e.g., player LTV, churn, bonus optimization).
    • Communicate complex insights in a simple, compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Help define metrics frameworks for new products or features, expanding high-level requirements with your analytical thinking and product insights.
    • Build dashboards and reports to help stakeholders monitor key KPIs and make data-driven decisions.


    Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist, preferably in the gaming or tech industry.
    • Strong analytical mindset and ability to find the story in the data: uncovering trends and explaining them in clear business terms.
    • Strong experience in SQL (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, or similar), and comfort working with large datasets.
    • Solid knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
    • Practical experience with Python for data analysis and modeling.
    • Familiarity with statistical testing, experimentation, and predictive modeling techniques.
    • University degree in mathematics / computer science / technology / engineering
    • English B2+


    Will be a plus:

    • Knowledge of the iGaming industry or understanding of slot game mechanics
    • Ability to look at games from players’ point of view.
    • Product mindset: the ability to go beyond numbers and propose actionable solutions that make an impact.

    The Kyiv Independent is Ukraine’s main English-language news outlet. It was founded in November 2021 by a team of reporters and editors who were fired from the Kyiv Post for defending editorial independence, in partnership with a media consultancy company Jnomics. Today, it’s a team of around 80 people based mostly in Kyiv. Publishing in English, we serve as Ukraine’s voice in the world and the world’s window into Ukraine.

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • 3+ years of experience working as a Product Manager / Data Analyst / other relevant product & tech experience
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience in setting up, running, and analysing A/B testing campaigns;
    • Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4, MS Clarity, Chartbeat, etc., would be considered a plus
    • Practical knowledge of using Jira or similar tools would be considered a plus
